Appreciation post: the Discord mod who actually undid my ban after I sent one message
I got auto banned from a 12k member music production server on a Tuesday night for posting a drum loop link, the bot tagged it as spam and I was gone in like 2 seconds. I sent a message to the mod mail thing not expecting anything because usually nobody reads it. Two days later a guy named Marcus replied and said he listened to the loop himself and it was clearly not spam, then he whitelisted my link format so the bot would stop flagging that site. He even pasted the bot log showing which rule triggered it, a 3 link rule I didn't know about. Nobody has ever done that for me before, usually you just get silence or a copy paste of the rules. Has anyone else had a mod actually reverse an auto ban like this, or is Marcus just a unicorn?
Honestly Marcus sounds nice but this is how it SHOULD work, its not some rare act of kindness. Mod mail exists for a reason and reading it is part of the job, not a favor. Most mods just dont bother because theyre burnt out or power tripping on a 12k server where nobody knows their name. The real problem is the bot rule itself, if a 3 link limit auto bans people with zero warning then the whole setup is broken and Marcus just patched one hole in a dam full of them.
