Got ghosted by a captcha bot for 3 days straight
Last month my bank's app locked me out after I tried logging in from a hotel wifi in Albuquerque, and their automated system flagged me as a fraud risk with zero way to appeal... I spent 3 days calling support and every single one said 'the algorithm made the call, not us'. Has anyone else been stuck in that weird middle ground where a bot decides you're the problem but no human can override it?

Probably the same captcha bot that makes you find all the traffic lights and then decides you're a robot anyway. Like congrats, I found them all, the crosswalk is safe, let me into my own money.
The real kicker is when you finally reach a person and they act like they're scared to touch the keyboard because the all knowing machine might get mad at them too. Can't overrule the overlord, sorry.
Tried the "verify your identity with a selfie" nonsense once and it flagged me for blinking too slowly or something, so now my face is on a list.
Next step is probably sending a carrier pigeon with a notarized document to their data center, but even then the pigeon might get flagged for suspicious wing patterns.
Fingers crossed your account gets released before you develop a full on paranoid disorder from trying to prove you're a real human. Good luck out there.
