Rant: got flagged 3 times on my own bank app before I figured out the actual problem
Last week I couldn't log into my bank app from my apartment in Denver and got locked out 3 times in a row, which pushed me to call support and sit on hold for 40 minutes. Turns out my VPN was set to a server in another country and their bot read that as fraud, so I switched it off and it worked on the next try. Did anyone else figure this out the hard way, or is there a smarter way to run a VPN without tripping every login check?
Skip the foreign server if you're just logging into your bank. That IP makes their fraud bot see a stranger on the other side of the world, so it locks you out every time. Split tunnel your VPN so banking apps go direct while everything else stays hidden.
