Debate: does it count as "fixed" if it took 4 hours longer than you expected?
I spent 6 hours trying to get a copy of Twilight Imperium 4th edition's rulebook error fixed - the card text for the War Sun says one thing but the FAQ says another - and now I'm wondering if I actually solved it or just gave up. Do you call it a win when you finally figure it out, or does the time wasted make it a loss?

So it's fixed in the same way my car is fixed after I hit it with a hammer.

I read a study last week that said over 40% of these "fixes" actually make the original problem worse within six months. They tracked a bunch of people who got this treatment and found most ended up needing real repairs soon after. It reminded me of that old saying about putting a bandaid on a broken leg. You might feel better for a day or two, but nothing underneath is actually changed. The numbers in that report really stuck with me, because it showed how many folks get tricked into thinking surface level stuff is the real deal.
