Overheard a group at the cafe say they only play games under 90 minutes
They called anything longer 'a waste of a Saturday.' I get wanting a quick game, but that dismisses SO many amazing experiences like Twilight Imperium or a full Gloomhaven session. What's the best LONG game you've played that was totally worth the time?

Yeah, that mindset just locks you out of a whole type of fun. Some of my best game memories are from those six-hour sessions where you're fully in another world. The trick is to treat it like an event, you know? Order pizza, clear the whole afternoon, and get the right group who's all in for the long haul. It's not a waste of a Saturday, it's what a Saturday is for.

Missing out on those long games is like skipping a great book because it's too thick. A full day of Twilight Imperium with friends is an event you'll talk about for years. The time investment is what makes the story and the win feel earned.

Wow, my buddy spent a whole Sunday playing Scythe and wouldn't shut up about it for a week. He said the long setup and playtime made the whole world feel real and important. Honestly, some games just need that room to breathe.
