inShoutout to the old timer who showed me a trick with a 3/4 inch conduit bender
Read an article once that called those tricks "tribal knowledge." It's the stuff you never learn in a classroom or from a book. It gets passed down from person to person on the job. That hand-width trick is a perfect example. Makes you wonder how many other little fixes are out there that we just don't write down.

inJust logged my 500th hour on the bottom saw and it felt like a real shift
500 hours on a bottom saw is just a crazy number to think about. I mean, that's like watching the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy over a hundred times, but underwater with a power tool. I can't even imagine the kind of focus that takes, or how many batteries you must have gone through. That's a real relationship with a piece of gear right there.

inJust hit my 50th book club meeting and the number made me stop
Counting all those notes must have been a trip. I read about a club that tracked their ratings and found they gave higher scores to books by men, which was a real wake-up call. Makes you wonder what your own stack of notes would really say.
