That random Reddit tip about dry erase markers fixed my Pathfinder maps

Some user said to hit the mat with a magic eraser before drawing, not after, and I tried it last Tuesday, now my dungeon grids actually wipe clean after 4 weeks of trying everything else, has anyone else gotten a weird forum tip that just worked?

OH COME ON, don't tell me we're REALLY doing this again. Every few months someone swears by some random household cleaner and suddenly it's the greatest DM discovery since graph paper. I tried the magic eraser thing after seeing it on a subreddit and guess what, my mat still smudges when the humidity is high or if I press too hard with wet erase. The tip is fine, it helps a little, but it's not like it changed my LIFE or anything. The real fix for me was just buying a cheaper mat and not caring as much when it gets stained. People act like a dirty grid is the end of the world but like, just tell your players "that smudge is a swamp" and move on. So yeah, cool tip, happy it worked for you, but maybe let's not write a whole post about it like you invented the wheel.
