Warning: That guy at game night who "helps" everyone might be throwing games

I was at a meetup last Tuesday at Dragon's Den in Portland and this one guy, Mark, kept offering to shuffle everyone's decks and reorganize the board pieces. He spent 5 minutes explaining a rule to a new player that was completely made up. I watched him slip an extra card into his hand while pretending to fix a player's draw pile. Has anyone else run into a person who uses "helpfulness" to cheat?

Ngl I see this same sneaky pattern everywhere like people who "help" with directions just to take you the long way.

The guy who 'helps' by shuffling your deck" reminds me of this dude at my local shop who kept offering to teach new players how to roll dice properly. Real smooth way to palm extras, I bet.
