My book club friend said to skip the last chapter of 'Klara and the Sun'

She told me the ending was too neat and ruined the book's mood. I read it anyway last month and she was right. The final ten pages tied everything up in a way that felt wrong for a story about such a lonely robot. It went from being sad and open to just... finished. Now I wish I had stopped where she said. Has anyone else had a book club suggestion that made you like a book more by ignoring part of it?

Hold up, skipping the ending is cheating! The author put it there for a reason, even if it feels off. That neat wrap up makes you sit with the uncomfortable fact that Klara's whole sad journey was maybe for nothing. It's supposed to feel wrong. Cutting it out is like turning off a sad movie before the last scene because you don't want to cry. You miss the whole point the writer was trying to make, even if it's a bitter one.

Can we start a book club where we just tell each other what pages to skip?
