Our book club's 'Project Hail Mary' debate completely derailed over the oxygen scene
One member insisted the algae math was fundamentally flawed, and the whole 2-hour meeting turned into a shouting match about fictional botany. Has anyone else had a club meeting implode over a single plot point?

That oxygen scene is actually one of the more solid bits of science in the book. The algae math works if you accept the story's given growth rate and tank size. My group got stuck arguing if Rocky could really play music by tapping, which felt even sillier. How did your friend think the numbers were wrong?
