Picked a book for our club about a guy building a cabin in Alaska, thought it was a simple survival story. The whole meeting turned into a fight about whether he was a hero or just a selfish jerk.

Have you noticed how people can't just let someone do their own thing anymore without slapping a label on it? It's like we've forgotten that one person's peaceful escape is another person's giant middle finger to society. My coworker's nephew dropped out of college to live in a van and everyone in the family treats him like some kind of criminal, but the guy just wanted out of the rat race. We get so hung up on deciding if someone is right or wrong that we miss the simple fact that people have different priorities.
