Took our club 3 weeks to pick one book because everyone kept adding new picks
We were supposed to vote on the next read at the January meeting in Denver and it turned into 6 people texting 14 different titles for 3 weeks straight. How do you all actually lock in a pick without it turning into a group chat war?
Same thing happened with my book club last fall, someone would toss out a title and then two other people would add five more before we even read the back cover. It got so bad we started doing a hard cutoff: everyone sends picks by Friday, then we vote on a shared poll over the weekend and top choice wins, no more debating after that. Took one month of chaos to figure that out but it honestly saved the group.
