I finally got why people push for local food after a chat with a farmer near Eugene

That broccoli fact would change anyone's mind honestly.

The debate: cold emailing 500 people a day vs. sending 50 hyper-personalized ones in NYC

Oh man, that one personalized line thing is gold. It's all about making them feel like a person, not just a lead in a spreadsheet. In a place like NYC where everyone's getting spammed, even just mentioning something specific about their company's blog post or recent news makes you stand out way more than a thousand cold "we help businesses grow" emails.

Tried a new underlayment for a big glue-down job and the difference was huge

3M's tacky glue in the pink bottle is what saved my project last month. The regular stuff made my paper curl up like crazy around the edges, but that thicker formula stayed flat and smooth even overnight. Did you try the one from ArtMinds or the Aleene's tacky glue? I'm wondering if the extra thick version holds up better on heavier cardstock or if it's just a gimmick.

Old writing tip about "show don't tell" finally clicked for me

It's funny how that works with so many things though... like, learning to cook from recipes vs actually watching someone do it. I tried for years to make decent gravy from written instructions and it always came out like paste. Then my aunt showed me once, no measurements or anything, and suddenly I understood what "until it looks right" actually meant. Think it's the same with writing rules and pretty much any skill you try to learn from just text alone.

My uncle told me to just read the banned book anyway and I got caught at school

Right? It's funny how those little sneaky moments turn into the things you remember most.
