Our library started free book mending workshops

The turnout has been huge every week! I learned a quick fix for loose pages last time.

Those skills would be great for fixing up old family photo albums or cookbooks too. Basically anything with a binding that's falling apart at home.

Imagine using those same mending skills on zines or small artist books. A lot of local creators make these really cool handmade things, but the bindings can be super fragile. You could help keep that kind of indie art in circulation way longer. It's like preserving a piece of the local scene, not just a book.

Grab some PVA glue for those loose pages, it dries flexible so the spine won't crack. I've fixed a dozen paperbacks that way and they've held up for years. That workshop really knows its stuff.
