inOur library started free book mending workshops
Those skills would be great for fixing up old family photo albums or cookbooks too. Basically anything with a binding that's falling apart at home.

inNgl, I thought the crucible was for making soup until my first day on the job.
In medieval alchemy, crucibles were used to try and turn lead into gold. They also showed up in religious ceremonies or for mixing pottery colors. So the soup idea kinda fits, since both need a sturdy pot for hot liquids. Old farm kitchens might have used similar iron pots for stews. It's neat how the same word can point to such different tools.

inWhy do online recipes always assume you have a fully stocked pantry?
Last Tuesday, I needed cumin but only had chili powder. Checked the notes on this soup blog, and they said it was fine to swap. I do that all the time now, saves me so many trips.
