Appreciation post: my $4 clip on grow light did way more for my succulents than the fancy purple panel I ran for a year
I had one of those big blurple LED panels hanging in my closet for about 14 months and my succulents were still stretching like crazy toward the window. Then back in March I grabbed a cheap clip on light at a hardware store in Boise for $4 and stuck it about 6 inches above the shelf. Within 3 weeks my echeveria went from pale green and leggy to tight and pink tipped, no joke. I think the difference is distance, the panel was 2 feet up so the light barely reached them, while the clip light is right there where they can actually soak it in. I still run the panel for my bigger pothos but honestly it might be overkill. Anyone else ditch the expensive setup for something small and cheap and get better results?
