Can we talk about my neighbor swearing my pothos would die in a north window, and it just put out its 11th leaf
Back in March my neighbor Dana, who has like 40 houseplants crammed into her sunroom, swore up and down that a pothos in a north facing window here in Seattle would just sit there and rot. She handed me a little meter and everything, said I needed at least 3 hours of direct light or I was wasting my time. I almost moved the whole shelf into the kitchen but got lazy and left it by the window that only gets that gray filtered light all day. Six months later that plant has pushed out 11 new leaves and one vine is almost 4 feet long now. So now I am sitting here wondering if half the light advice I have been following for my other plants is just noise. What is the actual cutoff for low light plants before they really start to suffer?
