My neighbor's 12 year old magnolia taught me I was pruning wrong
For years I hacked back my own magnolia every fall, thinking I was keeping it tidy. Then I watched my neighbor in Tulsa leave hers alone completely, and hers blooms like crazy while mine barely flowers. I finally looked it up and realized I was cutting off next year's buds the whole time. Has anyone else had a plant that did better when you just stopped messing with it?
