Noticed more community gardens popping up around my neighborhood lately
Honestly, it's cool to see so many new people getting into growing their own veggies and flowers.

On Maple Avenue, they just turned that empty lot into a garden with ten raised beds. But how many people actually use it? I saw it last weekend and only two plots had plants. Are we just doing this for the look? What happens when everyone gets busy and stops watering? Is this really fixing any big problems?

Hey @drew_owens43, my friend got a plot in a garden like that and quit after a few weeks. She said the plants all wilted because people kept forgetting to water them. Your worry about everyone getting busy is totally fair.

That bit about Maple Avenue having mostly empty plots hits the nail on the head. Makes you wonder if the city just wants to pretty up an eyesore lot and call it a day, without any real plan to keep it going. If nobody's using it to actually grow food, it's just a waste of dirt and lumber that could've been something else.
