Turns out I was killing my succulents with kindness for 2 years

I had a whole shelf of succulents that looked sad and stretched out, and I couldn't figure out why. Then my neighbor Maria walked by and said I was drowning them - I was watering twice a week like my ferns. She pointed at the droopy leaves and said 'those things want to be ignored, not loved.' Now I water them once every 3 weeks and they're finally plumping up. Anyone else overwater their plants for way too long before someone called them out?
