A surprise at the checkout made me rethink how I buy food
I saw my grocery total was way over budget. Now I only buy ingredients that are on sale that week. What are your go-to ways to save on groceries?

While sales can be tempting, they often push you toward items you didn't plan to buy. That random ingredient might sit in your cupboard unused, which is just wasted money. A fixed meal plan using regular staples, purchased in larger amounts during good deals, offers more reliable savings. Paying full price for fresh vegetables you know you'll eat is better than discounted food that goes bad.

Bought a waffle maker on sale years back, used it twice.

That waffle maker is basically a permanent kitchen decoration at this point. Mine's just taking up space and making me feel guilty every time I see it.
