Just realized my cheap bag of frozen peas is a total kitchen cheat code

I tossed a handful into a pot of boxed mac and cheese last night, and it somehow made the whole thing taste fresher and less like a sad dorm meal. The peas added a bit of sweetness and color, plus they cost me maybe 15 cents extra for the whole pot. Anyone have other cheap frozen veggies that can save a basic meal?

But have you tried fresh peas? The frozen ones always get mushy and taste like freezer burn to me.
