Just realized my cheap bag of frozen peas is a total kitchen cheat code

I tossed a handful into a pot of boxed mac and cheese last night, and it somehow made the whole thing taste fresher and less like a sad dorm meal. The peas added a bit of sweetness and color, plus they cost me maybe 15 cents extra for the whole pot. Anyone have other cheap frozen veggies that can save a basic meal?

Honestly, frozen corn is my go-to for that same reason. It stays a little crisp and adds a sweet pop to cheap ramen or rice bowls. Tbh it makes the whole meal feel way less depressing.

But have you tried fresh peas? The frozen ones always get mushy and taste like freezer burn to me.
