A hostel owner in Lisbon showed me why I was overpaying for every trip
I stayed at a place in Lisbon last spring where the owner ran a nightly dinner for 8 euros. I figured it was a tourist trap, but she sat down with us and started drawing on a napkin how she books flights. Turns out she waits for error fares and books one way tickets on separate airlines, which saved me around $200 on my next trip to Porto. She also said never to book airport transfers ahead and just split a taxi with whoever is at the hostel door. Has anyone else had a hostel host drop real money saving tips on them like that?
