Eating on $11 a day in Bangkok, my new meal plan changed the game

I used to blow my whole daily budget on tourist street food near Khao San Road, like 300 baht for two meals and still hungry. Then I started hitting the local wet markets around On Nut station where a full plate of pad see ew costs 40 baht, plus fresh fruit for dessert. Anyone else found better cheap eats by going where the office workers line up instead of the backpacker spots?
