Just realized I've hung over 10,000 sheets of drywall in 22 years.

Hah, that's wild. I bet that number sneaks up on you when you start adding it all up, I did the same thing with framing lumber a few years ago and it blew my mind.

The time I learned that truffle oil is almost never made from truffles

Wait, so I've been paying $12 for fancy truffle fries at happy hour when I could just spray some chemical air freshener on my regular fries and get the same effect?

I spent 3 years cleaning chimneys with the wrong brush size

Oh man, I feel this in my bones. I did the exact same thing a few years back, thought I was being smart with a smaller brush, then pulled my head in to check after reading something similar and found little ridges of soot all along the edges. It's like realizing you've been doing a job wrong the whole time and that nagging feeling is rough. You're probably not alone in wanting to double back, I've caught myself standing in my living room staring at the fireplace like it owes me money.

Used to vacuum every flue like it was a dust storm - now I barely touch the thing

Bet you're still finding dust in those corners a week later.

Had a guy in a Lima hostel explain why he quits every 6 months

Man that actually sounds kind of rad in a way. I mean I can't do that myself but I really respect when someone figures out a system that just works for them. It takes a lot of guts to live that light and not get dragged into normal life stuff. I bet he's probably a lot less stressed than most people I know. Good for him honestly it sounds like a solid plan if you're okay with not having a permanent home or a lot of stuff.
