Question about picking a hostel in Lisbon last month
I had to choose between a $20 hostel in the city center with no kitchen or a $15 one a 20 minute walk out with a full kitchen. I picked the cheaper one with the kitchen. I spent about $30 on groceries for 4 days of breakfasts and lunches, which saved me a ton compared to eating out. Has anyone else found that a kitchen is worth a longer walk?

Absolutely, that trade-off is always worth it. Did the same in Barcelona and basically funded my evening tapas with the lunch savings.

Used to think that was silly, but you're totally right.
