TIL some airports let you sleep for free during layovers

I had a long layover in Denver and couldn't afford a hotel room. A fellow traveler showed me a hidden lounge area with comfy chairs that nobody bothers you in. Are there other airports with similar secret spots for budget travelers?

Hold on, that sounds too good to be true! I've been stuck in lots of airports and those comfy spots are super rare. Like at O'Hare, every chair has armrests so you can't lie down. JFK is so loud and bright all night, sleep is impossible. Most airports just don't have hidden lounges, they want you to pay for a hotel. I wish it were easier, but budget travel means roughing it sometimes.

Did you hear they're mostly just a rumor anyway?

Remember getting stranded overnight in Atlanta once... a really kind gate agent saw me looking lost and brought me some snacks from the break room. He felt bad but said they didn't have any secret spots, just the hard floor near the baggage claim. It was a nice gesture that made the night a bit better, even if I still woke up with a sore back. Sometimes the people working there are just as stuck with the bad setup as we are. Makes you wish airports would add a few proper rest areas instead of just more charging stations.
