Had a client last Tuesday that made me rethink my whole approach

Yeah that hit me too @stone.jesse. I stopped assuming and started asking instead.

That week on the Mississippi in June almost broke me

Whoa. That Mississippi mud is a graveyard of old cars and appliances for sure. We pulled up a whole 50s-era refrigerator once near St. Louis, dressed like a rusty tombstone. It jammed our ladder pump so bad we had to cut it out with a torch, lost two shifts. People just dumped everything into the river back then, and it all comes back to haunt you.

Got booted from a fishing forum for saying the local trout stocking program was a waste of money...

Oh man, getting banned for speaking truth is practically a rite of passage here. I got the boot once for arguing that habitat loss is the real elephant in the room while everyone was obsessed with bag limits. It's just the mods protecting the old guard who don't want to hear it.

Rant: Tried the cheap grout saw from Harbor Freight against my old manual tool

Yeah I feel you @leo_kelly, that carbide scraper is a lifesaver. I switched to one after my third cheap grout saw bit the dust and it just keeps going. Never going back to those flimsy plastic handles again.

Can we talk about how long it took me to realize my torque wrench was clicking because I had it set to inch-pounds instead of foot-pounds?

Man I had a buddy who was rebuilding a small block Chevy in his garage. He spent a whole weekend torquing the cylinder head bolts all careful like. Engine ran fine for about 200 miles then popped a head gasket. Turns out his beam style torque wrench only went to 150 foot pounds and the spec was 65, but he never noticed the scale was in inch pounds the whole time. He felt like such a dummy when I pointed it out. Cost him a new gasket set and a Saturday of his life.
