I finally tracked my work lunch spending and cut it in half

I used to eat out every day at work without keeping count. After checking my bank statements, I saw it was costing me around $15 daily. I started bringing leftovers from home, and now I save about $150 a month. That money is helping me pay off my student loans faster.

lol my attempts at networking over lunch usually just mean I end up paying for someone else's meal too. My leftovers and I are doing just fine without the awkward small talk anyway.

My last lunch meeting cost me forty bucks and a soggy salad.

Bringing leftovers is fine, but you might be missing out on the NETWORKING benefits of eating out with coworkers. That monthly savings sounds good, but consider the time and effort spent on meal prep. Sometimes the convenience of buying lunch is WORTH the extra cost for a busy schedule. Finding a middle ground could keep you social and still save some money.
