Debate: is hitting $10k in savings actually a win or just the start?
Tbh, I just crossed the $10k mark in my emergency fund and I thought I'd feel amazing. I mean, that number took me like 18 months of skipping takeout and saying no to weekend trips. But now that I'm here, I'm torn between being proud and feeling like it's not enough. Some people say $10k is a huge milestone because it covers 3-6 months of rent and bills. Others argue that in today's economy, $10k barely scratches the surface if you lose your job or your car goes out. I live in Phoenix, so my rent is $1,400 a month and $10k would only stretch about 7 months if I'm careful. So which side are you on? Does hitting a round number like $10k feel like a real win to you, or does it just make you focus on what you still need? I'm curious how others define a budgeting win, especially when the goalposts keep moving.
