Found my first bullet journal in a box at my parents' house in Spokane
It was from 2017, just a simple black notebook with a few spreads. I had maybe five pens total back then, all basic black and blue. Now my setup has three different notebooks for different things and a whole case of pens. I was trying to track my mood with a single check mark, but now I use a whole color code and stickers. It made me think about how much the hobby has changed for me in just six years. What's the oldest part of your bujo setup that you still use?

My first bullet journal was a plain composition book from 2015. I mean, I still have it, and it's kind of embarrassing to look at now. I used one pen and my handwriting was a mess. I get what you mean about how it changes, like you start simple and then it grows into this whole system. The only thing I still use from back then is this one metal ruler. It's all scratched up but it's the perfect size. Idk, there's something about keeping that one old tool that feels right.

Reading a blog post about this a while back, how people get attached to their first tools. My oldest thing is this cheap plastic stencil from a dollar store. The corners are all worn down and it's a little warped, but it still makes perfect little circles for my habit tracker. Everything else in my kit has been upgraded or replaced, but that flimsy piece of plastic is still hanging around. It just works, you know? Hard to let go of the thing that started it all.
