Always thought VPNs were just for pirates until my country blocked a news site I actually read

Ended up finding a whole article about local water testing results that our own government never published, and it made me wonder what else I've been missing by not checking sooner.

Not sure I fully agree with this take. VPNs have their place for sure, but a lot of the time people use them to get around laws they don't like, which is a slippery slope. If the government didn't publish those water results, there might be a reason for it, like the data wasn't verified or it was outdated. Getting info from a random blocked site with no way to fact check seems risky too. Maybe the better move is to push for transparency instead of just finding a backdoor around the rules.
