Compared Myanmar's state news and a blocked independent site side by side last month
The state paper said the harvest was great and everyone was happy, but the indie site had photos of empty fields and farmers holding protests near Mandalay. Has anyone else found a blocked source that completely contradicted what their government was putting out?

Did you check the dates on those photos though? Government papers usually run a week or two behind, so those empty fields might have been from before the harvest, not after. I've seen that trick before, where they take an old picture and just slap a new caption on it. Not saying that's what happened here, just something to watch for... it's easy to get caught up in the contradiction and miss the timeline. Also, blocked sites can have their own bias too, so it's not always a clean good vs evil thing.
