Pro tip: My post about a meme from the Hong Kong protests got taken down for 'geopolitical sensitivity'

It was a simple image post that got 10k shares before it vanished. The platform cited a vague 'community standards' violation, but the real story was about the protest's scale. Has anyone else had a news-related post removed under similar, unclear rules?

You said it was a simple image post... but if it got 10k shares, it was probably about more than just a meme. That kind of spread means it was political content by default. The scale you mentioned is exactly why platforms take those down, they don't want to host that debate. It's less about the image and more about the conversation it starts.

Yeah, the "scale you mentioned" thing hits home. I once posted a totally normal picture of my cat sitting in a weird box. Somehow it turned into this huge thread about consumerism and pet ownership. Got a few thousand shares before it got locked. My cat is cute, but apparently also a political lightning rod. I guess I'm just really good at accidentally starting debates.
