My old boss said "hire slow, fire fast" and it backfired on him hard
Back in 2019 I worked at a small print shop in Columbus and the owner, Rick, loved saying "hire slow, fire fast." He took 4 months to fill a front desk spot, then let the guy go after 9 days because he asked too many questions. Turns out Rick was the one who trained nobody, so every new hire looked clueless by week two. We lost two $12,000 contracts that spring because nobody knew how to run the folder. Anyone else seen that advice work out the opposite way it's supposed to?
