The $1,200 ERP migration that still haunts my spreadsheets
Back in 2019 I paid a consultant in Austin to move us off QuickBooks and the new system corrupted 6 months of invoices, so has anyone else ever gone backward to their old software after a failed upgrade?

and honestly the backup thing is the part that gets me. I had an older version of my accounting software that I kept on a separate drive just in case, and when the new system tanked, that old copy was the only reason I could dig out the invoices that mattered. The consultant kept saying the migration was clean but I found gaps in like three different customer histories that I had to manually rebuild from paper. Going backwards felt like admitting failure but honestly it was less painful than trying to make the new junk work. I still keep that old drive in a drawer and every time I look at it I think about how one bad weekend of updates cost me more than a month of real work.
