Bought a $400 bandsaw blade sharpener, only used it twice
I grabbed one of those tabletop sharpeners off a supplier's clearance table back in March, thinking I'd save money on blades for my pork and beef breakdowns. Turns out most of my blades were already past the point where sharpening helps, and the two I did run through it came back with a wobble that wrecked a ribeye roast. Has anyone else burned cash on this thing or is there a better way to keep blades going that I should look at?
Watched a buddy drop close to that on a similar setup for his deer processing and he got maybe three good blades out of it before the guides wore loose. He switched to just buying better blades in bulk and sending the dull ones to a sharpening service that charges a few bucks each.
