Nearly ruined a whole tenderloin (my own dumb mistake)

Last Saturday I was prepping a nice center-cut tenderloin for a customer's holiday order, and I got distracted by my phone ringing. I accidentally sliced right through the chain instead of following the natural seam (you know, the rookie move). Has anyone else had a moment where you just had to stop, step back, and start over with a fresh piece?

Nearly ruined a whole tenderloin" just means you learned something, that's not a mistake that's experience.

@harperwright I've come back from a seared crust that looked like charcoal before, just scraped the burnt bits off and kept going. That tenderloin probably turned out fine after you fixed it.
