Rant: Bought into the hype about those expensive Blumotion hinges, now I'm not so sure
I spent about 3 years hearing everyone rave about Blumotion soft close hinges. Finally bit the bullet on a big kitchen job last month, 32 doors worth. Cost me a pretty penny, like $180 more than my usual Salice hinges. After installing a full set and living with them for a few weeks at a buddy's house I did, I gotta say I'm not impressed. The soft close is nice and all but the adjustment is way more finicky than what I'm used to. Spent an extra hour tuning some doors that just wouldn't sit right. Has anyone else had buyer's remorse after dropping cash on the premium hardware everyone swears by?

Used to think Blumotion was just overpriced hype myself, swore by my old Salice setup for years. But after helping my buddy swap out his kitchen and dialing those adjustments in, I actually get it now. The dampening really does stay smooth way longer than the standard stuff, and once you get the little twist on the side plate trick down it's not that bad. Totally changed my mind on the cost being worth it for a kitchen you use every day.

Respectfully, you might have just gotten a tough batch or something. My shop put Blumotion on a full house last year and the adjustment was actually easier than the Salice stuff we used before. The screws are all right there on the face, no reaching behind the door to tweak things. Plus the dampening is way more consistent over time. Double check that your side plates are seated right. Sometimes that extra 30 seconds of fiddling pays off.
