A retired installer in Phoenix caught me running RG6 through a staple gun and I still hear his voice
He walked up while I was stapling coax to a stud in this old ranch house, grabbed my wrist, and asked if I liked coming back for free callbacks. Told me he'd seen three guys lose their jobs over crushed dielectric, and showed me the staple in his own hand that had pinched a line flat. Now I keep a cable stapler with a tension dial in the truck and I want to know what everyone else uses for old work runs.
Picture the retired guy standing in your truck bed at 6am doing a full inspection of every tool while you hold his coffee. Crushed dielectric from staples is no joke though, those callbacks will eat your whole weekend. Just get the tension dial where it barely dents the jacket and you'll be fine.
