Six years in and I just figured out how to use my own fish tape

Still kinda embarrassed about this one. My old foreman always told me to 'just pull harder' when the tape hung up, and I figured that's how everyone did it. Now I'm wondering what other basic stuff I'm doing wrong. You guys got any other little things that took you way too long to figure out?
