The before and after on this 1979 Pentax K1000 I fixed last month is wild

Took a shutter that was completely seized from old grease, flushed it with naphtha in a Chicago shop I've used for 15 years, and now it fires crisp at 1/1000, so has anyone else seen dried lubricant turn into basically glue after a few decades, or was this just the worst case you've dealt with too?
