Dropped $230 on a Nemo Tensor pad last spring and it turned a 22 degree night in the Bighorns into the best sleep I've had outside
My old pad had me shivering on the ground for two trips straight, so I finally paid up and the difference was night and day, but now I'm wondering if anyone else thinks these nicer pads are worth it or if I just got lucky with one good night.
22 degrees is cold but its not like you were sleeping on ice or anything. A $230 pad for one good night seems like a lot when a decent foam pad and a good bag would do the same job for half that. People drop big money on gear and then swear its magic after one trip, thats just how it goes. Give it a full season of real cold before calling it a game changer.
