My tent zipper gave out in a downpour last weekend
I was camping near Lake Tahoe when a sudden storm hit, and the main door zipper on my two year old tent just jammed halfway open. I had to use a bunch of duct tape from my repair kit to keep the rain from blowing straight in. What do you guys do when a key piece of gear fails like that, just patch it or replace the whole thing?

Ever tried just replacing the zipper slider? Might be a cheap fix.

Remember my old rain jacket that split right up the back seam during a hike. Looked like I had a tail. Had to safety pin it shut and walk backwards into the wind for two miles. Sometimes a quick fix is just a story for later, you know? Duct tape absolutely counts.
