PSA: Check your camp stove's fuel canister threads before your trip, not at the trailhead
I had to choose between a $12 off-brand canister and a $18 name brand one at a store in Flagstaff, and I went cheap. Big mistake, the threads were rough and it leaked enough that I smelled gas the whole first night. Anyone else run into sketchy threads on the cheap ones, or did I just get a bad batch?
Cheap threads are the worst. Reminds me of a knockoff fuel bottle I grabbed years back where the cap wouldn't seal right and it sweated gas all over my pack. My whole car smelled like a gas station for a week after that trip. Now I just pay the extra few bucks and save myself the headache.
