Rant: Camping gear reviews leave out the cheap stuff that gets the job done

I run a moving company and we always go for gear that holds up without costing a lot. Most reviews only cover expensive brands, but many campers need simple, reliable options. Why do reviewers act like only high price tags mean good quality?

My buddy grabbed a ten dollar tarp from the hardware store that lasted five seasons. He used some bricks from his backyard as makeshift tent stakes once. That tarp saw more rain and sun than my fancy brand name one ever did. It finally gave out last fall, but he got his money's worth for sure. Sometimes the simple stuff just works without all the hype.

Your buddy's tarp story proves marketing teams hate one simple trick. Bet those bricks held better than my thirty dollar aluminum stakes that bent in soft ground, faith_palmer51. The expensive stuff spends half its budget convincing you it won't fail. Meanwhile the ten dollar tarp just sits there doing its job until it literally turns to dust.
