inQuestion about upcycling old board game components creatively
So much for @derek_burns's tiny rebellion when you're basically dipping the evidence in industrial plastic. Guess those board game coasters are committing fully to a life of crime now with that epoxy shield. My drinks would still find a way to mess it up somehow.

inThat time I lamed a horse with a single bad nail
Oh man, I get that feeling. For me it's less about tools and more about certain roads on my route. I took a turn too fast once and a whole stack of boxes went flying. Now every time I drive that street I just cringe. What helped was kinda what you said, just trying to nail the perfect stop at that same house each time. Those little wins start to cover up the old mess up.

inRant: Camping gear reviews leave out the cheap stuff that gets the job done
My buddy grabbed a ten dollar tarp from the hardware store that lasted five seasons. He used some bricks from his backyard as makeshift tent stakes once. That tarp saw more rain and sun than my fancy brand name one ever did. It finally gave out last fall, but he got his money's worth for sure. Sometimes the simple stuff just works without all the hype.

inThe old way we used to cut carpet around door frames was so different
Honestly just reading that made my old carpet burn scars itch. I learned on my grandpa's scary knife that looked like it belonged in a horror movie, now I feel spoiled with the clicky safety blades. What's the dumbest tool injury you got learning a trade?

inPSA: Cracked the code on identifying volatile acidity in young reds
Reading through this debate makes me wonder if we're overcomparing it. For casual drinkers at home, does catching every tiny fault really change the experience that much? Most flawed bottles are pretty obvious without needing a side by side comparison. The goal is to enjoy the wine, not pass a sommelier exam. If a wine tastes bad, you don't drink it, simple as that. Spending a lot of time hunting for specific flaws seems to miss the point of just having a glass.
