I was the guy shouting down a speaker at UW last fall, and a janitor named Ray tipped me off
Last October I stood up during a guest lecture at UW and yelled until campus police walked the speaker out, and I felt great about it for about a month. Then Ray, the guy who does the floors in Kane Hall, asked me if I ever let anyone finish a sentence before I decided they were awful, and I honestly could not name one thing the speaker actually argued. My small win is that I sat through a full 50 minute talk last week that I hated and asked two questions at the end instead of grabbing the mic. Anyone else have a moment where someone totally outside the debate made you rethink how you protest?
