Student Senate just killed our debate club funding overnight
Our debate club at Lincoln State got $1,200 a semester for travel to tournaments. Then the student senate voted 9 to 4 to redirect it to a mental health app. No warning, no open forum, just a Tuesday night agenda item. The funding change happened within 48 hours, and now we can't afford the regional qualifier in Omaha. I think mental health matters, but they cut our speech outlet without any student input. Has anyone else had their campus group's free expression funding stripped by a quiet vote like this?
