Can we talk about the old car show in my town last year

The 2023 show had a rule against any 'political' stickers or flags on vehicles, which meant a bunch of classic trucks with old union decals got turned away at the gate. It felt like they were erasing a whole piece of local history to avoid any possible argument. Has a local event near you ever done something similar?

My buddy's old farm truck got turned away for a faded "support local" bumper sticker, lol.

Honestly, that rule makes total sense to me. Calling it "erasing history" is a bit much. The show is about the cars, not the stickers on them. Letting in union decals means you have to let in every other kind of political symbol too, and then the whole day becomes about arguing instead of chrome and engines. The organizers just want a peaceful event for families, and that's a fair goal. Sometimes you have to draw a clear line to keep the focus on the shared hobby.
